With a strong and sturdy cardboard box, you can store and protect the majority of your belongings, from electronics, dishes, books, and clothes. The key is to use the right type and size of the box given the types of items that will be stored in it. A cardboard box will hold your plates and glassware, but a glass moving kit or dish kit are specifically built with dividers to separate and protect individual breakables. A wardrobe box comes equipped with a hanger bar that lets you move and store your clothes right from the closet into the box and back into the closet again without having to fold everything.

Fill materials are what will prevent your belongings from moving around and potentially breaking during storage or transit. Packing paper, bubble wrap, and foam packing peanuts are great for filling nooks and crannies in your boxes. Filling the open spaces in the boxes keeps things from shifting and causing damage.

Wrapping and Tape Materials
Once your box is filled, the only thing left to do is seal up your boxes tightly. Packing tape should be used to seal the top and especially the bottom of all your boxes. This will prevent the bottom and the top of the boxes from coming open. If you would like an additional layer of protection from dust, shrink-wrapping your stack of boxes will keep them clean.
Large items like furniture and mattress can be protected with moving blankets, furniture covers, and mattress covers. These will help repel dirt, and protect from scratches.
